New OC Site (Cell Phones)

OfferCentric is truly in a freebie frenzy lately! Once again we are pleased to bring you the news of another site release from OfferCentric - Free Cell Phones!
Thankfully, unlike their last two offerings, this site only requires 8 referrals so we'll be able to move a lot of people through the conga line tonight. Because of this, we're expecting a very large turnout this evening, so make sure you don't miss it!

Things never seem to slow down in the freebie world! The GetFriends Network has just unveiled a 6 referral site. Some of the highlights are $275 PayPal, an Xbox360, or a $300 Amazon gift card. This is probably your last chance to snag a Free Xbox 360 prior to release!

| Prizecube has officially announced that they are no longer open for business. For many in "pending", this is a rather large source of frustration as Prizecube doesn't plan on shipping out the items that their users have earned. In Freebie World companies come and go - but it is always especially painful when a legit company bites the dust.

Gratis runs into domain issues

The domain freedigitalcameras.com has apparently been taken over by the owner of http://www.mostwanteddomains.com/. Sources inside Gratis only mention a "domain registration error". This could mean that either they let their domain expire and someone else picked it up, or it was forcefully hijacked. Either way, you will experience downtime for this site until Gratis resolves the issue. Gratis says that all account information has been preserved.
Edit: FreeDigitalCameras.com is back up and running now. Gratis didn't go into details on the exact cause of the domain problem, but we are glad everything is back to normal. |

| In a surprising turn of events, VoltageNet turns tail and runs from the freebie arena. They mention problems receiving credit from the advertisers as the primary cause. The owner says that everyone who met their requirements will still get their gift. Take a look at this thread for more information. We are sad to see a legit company go. |

And Gratis finally releases a digital camera site. All the fresh congas are highlighted in yellow on the left navigation bar. | Today, Monday, March 7, 2004, just before 12 noon, we have reached the 100,000 visitor milestone! Just a month and a half ago, we hit the 50,000 visitor mark. That gives us an average of over 1,100 unique visitors a day in the past month and a half! Thank you to our entire community for helping us achieve this milestone. | (This was done a while back - here is the official announcement) We have pulled support for all FreeSuper sites including FreeSuperElectronics, FreeSuperStuff, and FreeSuperGiftCards. The first two sites have already been closed by the owners claiming "We've decided to move on to bigger and better things." And by doing so, they are scamming all those individuals that did not meet their unannounced deadline. I attempted to contact support asking for a better explanation, but they did not respond. While it remains to be seen if they will honor those people who have completed their requirements, we cannot support a site who engages in such fraudulent activities. |

Dynamic Proof Pages

We have developed a system to integrate user proof pictures into our pages dynamically. Any of our conga members can now post pictures for inclusion into our system. In addition, each person now has their own personal page that lists out what proof they have submitted by company and product. To see a user's posted pictures, just click the "Posted by [alias]" listed on the proof page. For more information, click here.

| While it was great to manage our own dedicated server running off my internet connection, the bandwidth demands this site was causing became too much. We have now moved to a professional web host! I hope you all enjoy the jump in response time for page loads. This move also enables us to bring you new features which are currently being worked on. Site Redesign is Live!

After many days of hard work, our new design has been released! For starters, the conga navigation has been redesigned to make it easy to distinguish between proven and testing companies. In addition, it is now being displayed by product instead of by company in an easy drill down interface.
After navigating to the conga page you will see a whole new layout. You will find detailed information about the products that this site offers including pictures and descriptions. Also, all of the offers that are available will be listed out with their ratings and comments. If the product is proven, you will see proof pictures along with a link to more proof. The proof pages themselves have been redesigned to offer a dynamic interface for easy updates. Along the right hand side is where the conga information is displayed. Those of you who have been with us for a while will recognize it's familiar layout.
You should also notice that the home page has been redesigned to offer a better introduction to this site, for both new users and those who are vets.
New users can rest easy with our step by step introduction to the freebie sites. Click "For New Users" on the left navigation bar to understand the basic concepts.
We hope you enjoy these changes to the site. Know that we are here for our community and always strive to be the best and most informative source for all the free sites. |
